Where is the Suunto core made?
Suunto Core Alpha is designed and made in Finland with the quality that Suunto is known for. Suunto is a Finnish brand, established in 1936. It was founded by Finnish inventor Tuomas Vohlonen, who pioneered a new standard for navigational precision.
Is Suunto a Chinese company?
Suunto is headquartered in Finland. It used to be owned by Amer Sports, but after a drawn-out process, it ended up owned by the Chinese company Dongguan Liesheng Electronic in 2022. It predominantly makes and sells sports watches and accessories, with a particular strength in selling to the European markets. Suunto was a subsidiary of Amer Sports, owned since 2019 by the Chinese group Anta Sports, with sister brands Wilson, Atomic, Sports Tracker, Salomon, Precor, and Arc’teryx. In May 2022, Chinese technology company Liesheng acquired Suunto from Amer Sports.
