Which Garmin is most like a smartwatch?
Smartwatch features most garmin watches come with additional health tracking features including sleep and stress monitoring, but the more ‘smartwatch’ style ones, like the venu 4 and venu x1, go seriously more in-depth and pack garmin’s advanced elevate gen 5 heart rate monitor. Sleep tracking is big business, and the apple watch lags behind some industry standards. Unlike whoop and garmin smartwatches, or smart rings like oura, galaxy ring, or ultrahuman, the apple watch doesn’t offer users sleep, readiness, or activity scores, even though it’s collecting vitals data around the clock.
What does Garmin have that Apple doesn’t?
UPDATE for anyone who might search this up: Consensus seems to be that Garmin watches have a much better battery life, and Garmin Connect features improve quality of life for certain things. Apple watches can do many of the same things but just not quite as well or not as user friendly. Currently, anyone can try Connect+ for free for a month before deciding whether there’s anything worthy of the $7 monthly subscription, or $70 yearly fee. I’ve been using Connect+ for five months now, while testing pretty much every new watch Garmin has launched in that period.
